A cozy cocktail that combines pumpkin spice flavors with the fun kick of a margarita, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (ground)
  • 1-2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp ginger (ground)
  • 1/4 tsp cloves (ground)
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 4 tbsp unsweetened pumpkin puree (canned)
  • 2 fl oz tequila (blanco or reposado)
  • 1/2 fl oz Cointreau or orange liquor
  • 1/2 fl oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 fl oz pumpkin spice syrup
  • 1 dehydrated orange wheel or lime wheel (for garnish)
  • 2 cups ice

Instructions

  1. Make the Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup: In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and water. Add the cinnamon, cinnamon sticks, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. Heat on medium until the mixture starts to simmer and the sugars dissolve fully. Remove from heat and stir in the pumpkin puree. Let it cool, then strain into a jar.
  2. Mix the Margarita: In a cocktail shaker, add the tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, and 1 fl oz of pumpkin spice syrup. Add 2 cups of ice and shake well until chilled. Strain into a glass filled with ice.
  3. Garnish: Top with a dehydrated orange wheel or lime wheel for a festive touch.

Notes

You can use light brown sugar if that’s what you have. Feel free to adjust the spices to suit your taste. If you want a creamier drink, consider adding a splash of heavy cream.
