A delightful spread capturing the essence of summer, perfect for pancakes, toast, and oatmeal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups chopped peaches (skin and pit removed)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Add your chopped peaches to a large crockpot or slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir until everything is well combined.
  3. Cook on low for about 360 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Once the peaches are soft, add the vanilla extract.
  5. Use an immersion blender to puree the peach mixture to your desired consistency; this recipe prefers it thick and smooth.
  6. Allow the peach butter to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to jars.
  7. If you’re planning to can, prepare glass jars after pureeing. Fill them and process for 10 minutes, adjusting for altitude.

Notes

For best flavor, use ripe, juicy peaches. This recipe is easily customizable with optional add-ins like nutmeg or allspice.
