Delightful hard-boiled eggs marinated in a savory soy sauce mixture, perfect for any meal or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with water. Boil for 7-8 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.
  2. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool down.
  3. Mix together soy sauce, water, sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic until it’s well combined.
  4. Gently peel the cooled eggs and place them in the soy sauce mixture.
  5. Let the eggs marinate for at least 30 minutes, but a few hours or even overnight in the fridge is best.
  6. Slice the eggs in half and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For gluten-free, substitute tamari instead of soy sauce. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
