Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 2 pounds chicken breasts (thawed or frozen)
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: cheese, avocado, cilantro

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the Instant Pot.
  2. Pour the salsa over the chicken.
  3. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to high pressure: 10 minutes for thawed chicken, 15 minutes for frozen chicken.
  5. Once cooking is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes. Then perform a quick release.
  6. Shred the chicken with two forks and stir to combine with the salsa.
  7. Serve on tacos, over rice, or on top of a salad. Add any optional toppings as desired.
