A comforting dish featuring crispy, flavorful chicken breasts, perfect for family dinners or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Gravy (for serving)
  • Mashed potatoes (for serving)
  • Green beans (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Flatten the chicken by pounding the chicken breasts so they are the same thickness.
  2. Prepare the coatings: In one bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together.
  3. Coat the chicken: Dip each chicken breast first in the egg mixture, then in the flour mixture, making sure each piece is well coated.
  4. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the chicken: Carefully add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain excess oil by removing the chicken from the skillet and letting it drain on a paper towel.
  7. Serve and enjoy the fried chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Notes

Substitutions: Chicken thighs can be used for a juicier option. Fresh chicken provides the best flavor. Optional: Add cayenne pepper for some heat.
